Working from Home

A lot of us now work from home, even if it is only a few days a week, and it is not always possible to have a designated room for working so it is important that our work stations fit in with the rest of the décor. Broste Copenhagen have launched a couple of desk/tables, which look stylish anywhere and do not take up a lot of room.

The Fredo table in Simply Black steel has a clever dropped shelf the whole length of the back, perfect for storing books, or concealing unwanted and unsightly wires. It is compact only 38 cm wide so easy to fit into a small space, and it looks stylish anywhere. Retails at £791.70

The Kamille table has a black glass top and a steel shelf below handy for papers and books. Again, it is compact, only 40 cm wide and will look smart in any room.

When you no longer want to use the tables as desks, they become decorative tables for your favourite vases and accessories. Retails at £791.70

Montana – Flexible Interior Design for Homes and Offices

At the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2013 Montana gives inspiration to create an evocative crossover between home and office. The ingredients are modules, tables, chairs and colours that can be mixed in any combination at your choice and as you wish.

10_montana_contract42 Colours

The Montana palette colours fjord, peach, lemon drop and tokyo yellow connect the different ambiences. The delicate colours express themselves refreshingly and elegantly at a time.4_montana_living3_013

In office areas they lighten up and challenge the traditional colours of offices. In homes the colour tokyo yellow contributes to set off the dynamic shelving system, that set focus on the flexible possibilities of interior design with Montana. Shelves and dividers can be placed as you wish and the modules may be used alone or as combined modules – 2, 3, 4 or more – to an individual book shelf.

If, on the contrary, you need a closed storage module, the elegant handle less fronts with push effect give a smooth and sleek surface – with a unique and distinguished character in the colours peach and lemon drop.

Tables and Chairs

11_montana_ha2workThe light MP mini tables with top and frame lacquered in Montana colours are available in a number of sizes and in three different designs. They are ideal as sideboards, small dining tables or occasional tables in homes. For offices they are suitable for lounge ambiences, receptions and meetidjob_panton_green 001ng zones.

The Tivoli chair is a classic both for homes and businesses. With the five different versions the design becomes multi-flexible and the palette offers you discreet or spectacular colours – inside or outside.

New Ideas for the Office

Recycling at the office has become a part of the everyday life in modern companies. Montana has developed a selection of modules that provide easy waste sorting for recycling, such as light bulbs, batteries, printer cartridges, carton and paper. The modules are suitable for central islands in the office enabling everybody to dispose of their waste in a correct and safe way.

For the individual working place we have developed a number of new modules and components. There is space for personal belongings like the bicycle helmet, the fine shoes, the tie, the jacket, cosmetics and a small lockable room for objects of value.

Hay Relaunches FDB’s Classic Furniture

70 years after the launch of the first FDB furniture Hay is now taking on production of quite a few of the classic pieces. Functional and democratic design for the people was the thought behind the furniture production FDB started in the 1940’s. “This democratic thought is close to Hay’s philosophy”, says Christian Skovhus, of Icon of Denmark, brand agents for Hay in the UK.

The furniture is an important part of Danish design history and is very apt for now, a period when people have less money to spend on designs for their homes. “It has always been Hays most important task to produce quality and durable designs at a reasonable price, and that is why we are taking on this project” informs Rolf Hay.

The FDB collection from Hay consists of 5 chairs designed by Poul M. Volther, Jorgen Baekmark and Folke Paalsson as well as a table designed by Jorgen Baekmark. The furniture is made from beech and available in beech as well as in black, white, grey and coralPrices range from £118 for chairs and £237 for tables, the furniture will be available from November.

The collection will be available at the Hay store in Covent Garden

The possibilities are endless!

The new tables launched by Carl Hansen & Son gives you a wide range of options and the chance to get just the table you want.  The six new Elliptical dining tables were designed by Hans J Wegner back in 1962, but never produced in large numbers.

The table designs are all inspired by an adapted ellipse. The new series of elliptical tables comprise models CH334, CH335, CH336, CH337, CH338 and CH339. With their original forms and clean lines, the tabletops investigate the possibilities of circular shapes, renewing the classical ellipse and providing excellent seating for all without annoying corners. The design concept also allows for a high degree of personalization: tables are available in three different lengths, in either solid wood (ash, beech, oak or walnut) or with stainless steel legs. All tables are available with tabletops in solid wood; tables with stainless steel legs are also available with tabletops in laminate or linoleum.

Carl Hansen & Son has cooperated with Wegner’s Studio since 1949, and the Danish producer’s respect for Wegner’s oeuvre continues unabated. With the addition of the six new dining tables, Carl Hansen & Son extends its range of Wegner dining tables into yet another category.

Craftsmanship and quality are key focus areas for Carl Hansen & Son, and every piece of furniture is meticulously crafted with respect for its materials. The new dining tables are thus a lifelong investment in craftsmanship and design.

With their many material options, CH334, CH335, CH336, CH337, CH338 and CH339 provide design enthusiasts extraordinary opportunities to adapt Wegner’s timeless tables to match their own individual decor and taste preferences. The new elliptical tables complete Carl Hansen & Son’s already extensive table collection .The warm tones of the wooden tables are an elegant homage to the forest, the epitome of Scandinavian Living. And the streamlined stainless steel legs, together with understated laminate or linoleum, share minimalism’s no-nonsense aesthetics.
