SOFTLINE Supplies New Cultural Centre – Hermans


Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city has just opened a new Theatre and cultural centre called Hermans. It was designed by architects Gjode & Povlsgaard and is an impressive and innovative building.


Softline is delighted to have been chosen to supply most of the furniture for the Hermans building. The products supplied include Planet sofas, Tribecca coffee tables and the Chat poufs in an eye catching combination of colours. “It is so great to see our products in such a fantastic space” said Christian Skovhus, Export Manager at Softline, “and we hope customers will enjoy sitting in this amazing room”.

Setup and Standby



Are two new products from the Softline Spring Summer 2013 range.

Setup designed by Matthias Demacker is a sofa system with round organic shapes that can be arranged in various configurations, so users can build their own setup to suit their living space.   Additional cushions add even more seating comfort, ensuring it becomes your favourite spot when relaxing at home.

Standby are adaptable chairs designed by Javier Moreno – a range of chairs with different backrest heights for the different lengths of time you sit in them.  The back heights range from 67 cm to 95 cm, so sit back and relax or sit up and take note… The chair’s integrated side table make them fully adaptable to any space private or public.

Table Talk








The 2013 Softline range features two new unusual designs in tables Circo and Monday. Both offer a versatile use and distinctive style.






Designed by Susanne Gronlund, the Circo table is an extremely useful piece of furniture; you can place it where you need it for putting things on or simply use it as a decorative element. Circo


The table is completely circular – hence the name. Its design gives it a unified and harmonious look which will fit with any décor be it modern or more traditional.    Circo retails at £169.00


Another practical design item from busk & hertzog, Monday is a versatile sofa/side table which can be used individually, but looks stunning in a combination of two or more.

Quadro: designed by Suzanne Gronlund


Quadro is a modern Scandinavian interpretation of a mix between the traditional Moroccan cushion and the Eastern tea tray table. It can be used as a soft, cosy stool to put your feet up on after a busy day at work, with the tray as a side/sofa table for coffee mugs, your iPad, book etc..

The tray functions both as a handy portable tray and as a table top. As a table top, its sides can be turned downwards so that it forms a visual whole with the soft base, which fits perfectly with the tray. Trays come in Black, white ash and Walnut. Lazy: designed by Andreas Lund


The idea and ambition with Lazy was to design a sofa bed according to a new and simple principle. The ingenious result was a sofa on which the back of  flips in a single movement, thus becoming   part of the mattress/bed. Table Talk

Like clever inventions, good design is often the simplest. The Drum pouf from Softline proves this point perfectly.  It is a comfortable seat and leg rest, and then add a tray and you have a perfect coffee table.  

The idea behind Drum is a decorative functional piece of furniture with multiple applications: a comfortable seat, a foot rest and a practical coffee table.  It is light and easy to move around, and the tray can also be used on its own.

The poufs are available in three sizes and different fabrics. The tray comes in two sizes and available in black, white, (lacquered Beech) Walnut and Ash. So you can combine them to suit your decor.

And Softline’s new Boggie table by busk+hertzog is another example of simple and very clever design.

The small satellite table is extremely useful throughout the house and because of it shape you can position it over the seat of chairs and sofas, ideal when having coffee or working on an iPad. But the table is also great in the hall and it makes for a perfect bedside table.

The light design with the stiff springy legs gives the table a dynamic look that fits in with most decor and furniture.

A Sofa with a Heart


The Heart modular sofa from Softline, is much more than a sofa.  You can build single seats,   a sofa or a day bed – Or configure lounge sofas of any desired length by combining the elements to each other. The backrest can be removed easily and attached again horizontally – giving you all the flexibility you need.  It is an ingeniously simple idea that is at the root of ‘Heart’.
