April 28 and 2nd May:  a chocolate and wine tasting dinner/lunch pairing the wines of Castello di Potentino with fine chocolate from Rococo.

The menu, created by Chantal Coady OBE of Rococo and Charlotte Horton of Potentino, perfectly pairs authentic Italian flavours made with local Tuscan produce with award-winning Rococo chocolates hand made in London.  Each course is also matched with wine from Potentino.

Rococo Chocolates was founded by Chantal Coady OBE in 1983. Armed with a little knowledge, a dangerous passion and a belief that there was room for a radically different approach to chocolate, she opened a shop on London’s King’s Road and has been pioneering the artisan chocolate movement in the UK ever since.

Rococo’s award winning collection includes organic Artisan bars in exotic flavours and Couture chocolates hand made in London by their small and dedicated team of chocolatiers.  Rococo now has four shops and co-owns a cocoa farm in Grenada with the Grenada Chocolate Company, which is part of the Grenada Organic Cocoa Farmer’s Cooperative.  Cocoa from this farm in made into chocolate in Grenada, one of the only tree-to-bar producers in the world, which is used as part of Rococo’s House Blend across much of their range.

About Potentino:

This ancient castle is built on an Etruscan site. It lies in a secret valley in one of the last undiscovered corners of Tuscany – Monte Amiata. The medieval building is surrounded by unspoilt countryside, dotted with the vines and the ancient olive trees used for the estate’s small production of high quality wine,grappa and oil.

Bought and restored in 2000 by the Greene family, today the castle is operating as a dynamic cultural centre. Ideal as an off-season travel venue, it hosts guests, events and weddings all year round.

Charlotte Horton has been making award-winning wines in Tuscany for over 20 years. Before moving to Italy, she worked for Vogue Magazine, the Secker & Warburg publishing house and subsequently as afreelance journalist. In 2013, she was recognized as one of the Barclay’s Women of Achievement.
