Fernando Casasempere’s has small, tactile sculptures which are perfectly suited to create an impression in the living room, hall or conservatory and his work looks equally good in a minimalist, modern, eclectic or antique/period setting.

Fernando Casasempere was born in Santiago, Chile. He moved to London in 1997, where he works and lives. His sculptures have been shown extensively in Latin and North America and in Europe.

“My inspiration comes from the traditional blue and white Chinese ceramics as well as the later European ceramics. With these works in mind I have searched for different methods to apply colour in my porcelain sculptures and in turn maintain the geological aspect of my work. I have used the natural transparency of porcelain and worked with this to create a watercolour effect, which also relies on the application of colour under the same effect. The simple cubic shape of each sculpture allows me to create moving and complicated forms and textures within each piece, applying this watercolour effect” explains Fernando.

The sculptures are approximately 30 x 29 x 20cm and the prices start from £4,000 pounds each.
