fernando_book_0018Exploring the evolution of Casasempere’s work across a decade of his practice and showcasing the  development of two recent exhibitions at Somerset House, London and The New Art Centre Wiltshire, the book documents the artist’s use of clay and relave, a by-product of the copper mining process, and a material that forms an integral part of Casasempere’s sculptural work.

From the vast Antofagasta mines in Chile’s deserts to his studio in Hackney, this beautiful photographic book also features rare, handmade inserts printed in copper, developed by the artist especially for each edition of the book; a silk-‐screen relave-‐print cover, produced from industrial waste gathered from copper mines in Chile; and a commissioned text by Enrique Walker, Associate Professor of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University. The book has been conceived, produced and designed by artistic director Małgosia Szemberg,
